From 2 October 2017 the municipality of Viareggio apply a new amount of the tourist tax up to a maximum of 7 days, to be paid directly to the CASH accommodation, therefore as follows:

• € 1,00 per day per person from 1st October to 31 May
• € 2,00 per day per person from 1st June to 30 September

List of exempts from the tourist tax:

• All guests under 18 years of age;
• Who care assistants admitted to health facilities, on the basis of only one carer;
• Both parents of minor patients admitted to health facilities;
• The members of the police and fire forces that stay for service needs;
• Bus drivers and tour leaders who provide assistance to groups organized by travel and tourism agencies of at least 25 participants. The exemption applies to each coach driver and one tour guide for every twenty-five participants.
